Some typical recipes.

4 oz fresh white breadcrumbs.
3 oz self raising flour.
3 oz shredded suet.
pinch of salt
2 oz sugar.
6 oz currants.
grated rind of a lemon.
6 tsp milk.

1.. Place breadcrumbs, flour, salt suet, sugar, currants and lemon rind in bowl, mix.

2.. Add milk to bind together into a soft, slightly sticky dough.

3.. Turn out onto floured surface knead gently until just smooth.

4.. Shape into roll and enclose in greased foil. Steam for 2 hours.
