Cruises 28 to 31.

As far as we can go at present on the Montgomery canal.

28 Autumn colours. The scenic Llangollen and Montgomery canals.

Nantwich Wednesday 8th October to Llangollen Thursday 16th October. Eight nights, £675 per berth.

The Llangollen is justly described as one of the most attractive in the UK. We also explore that section of the Montgomery canal which has been restored and reconnected to the main line. Quaint villages and towns along the route, three short tunnels, a three rise staircase lock and of course two of the most impressive aqueducts on the UK canals. In addition the last stretch of canal clings to the side of the valley as it makes it way into the Welsh mountains.

On the evening of Wednesday Nantwich; Thursday Wrenbury; Friday Grindley Brook; Saturday Ellesmere; Sunday Aston Locks; Monday Frankton; Tuesday Chirk; Wednesday Llangollen.

On the Shropshire Union.

30 Contrasts. Mostly the rural Shropie with a taste of the Black Country at the end.

Nantwich Friday 24th October to Birmingham Friday 31st October. Seven nights, £595 per berth.

We start in the heart of rural Shropshire to explore a modern canal, it was only built in the first decades of the 19th century! It cuts its way through the countryside with high embankments and deep tree lined cuttings. There is one short tunnel and three flights of narrow locks. Then we spend two days
contrasting the Shropie with the post industrial canals of the Black Country. First we climb up 21 locks into Wolverhampton, then we explore the old route, loops and all, as we make our way to Birmingham.

On the evening of Friday at Nantwich; Saturday Audlem; Sunday Adderley; Monday Norbury; Tuesday Autherley; Wednesday Wolverhampton; Thursday Birmingham.
