While taking on new guests at Stratford upon Avon we were visited by the Visit Britain Inspector who after a very thorough examination of the boats and the way we look after our guests, which included meals with us and a stay overnight, pronounced that we had now reached a four star level. We are very pleased with this since it now confirms what guests have been staying this season.

Like all the Hotel boats we have been effected by the very wet weather. We did manage to go onto the River Sevrn for one day as recorded in this picture. However the river quickly rose again and we had to divert off the Rivers Severn and Avon onto the Worcester and Birmingham and Stratford upon Avon canals. (However the guests effected had really wanted a canal cruise so they were rather pleased by the change!!) It also means it is a constant fight to keep the boats clean outside with so much mud around. Inside the coal fire has been kept burning onto into July so guests are warm and dry watching the scenery glide by in our covered over cockpit areas with the lovely dry warmth of the fire. As I write this the sun is out for the second day in a row so there is hope.

Our routes for next year, 2008, have now been finalised. Fuller details will be on this web site in September and also sent by post to all mailing list.However there are still a couple of cabins left over the summer and space in the Autumn. Remember you can book just a few days as a short break.
