September 2006.

I find September has already almost gone before I can find time to write another Newsletter, and a lot seems to have happened since July.

We have travelled down through London, this was spectacular as can be see in the picture on the right. Then out at Bentford onto the Thames and back up the whole length of the River Thames, with a short diversion to explore the River Wey on the way. Finally we came back up the Oxford canal to Warwick via Market Harborough!

Yes we still have the two Australians as crew. They are going to stay with us to the end, although as we are having a few days break in Warwick they are travelling around Europe. It seems possible that my eldest daughter Marie might crew for me again next year, but more on that latter when I know something definite.

We are delighted to have just been able to get winter moorings here at Saltisford Arm Warwick. This means that we are able to offer New Year and Winter cruises on the Grand Union starting and ending here in Warwick. Details on our winter cruises page.

Next year's routes and prices are on line at last. Look at Routes for 2007. They went 'live' at 9.00 a.m. this morning, and by 6.00 p.m. this evening I had already sold two cabins for New Year. So at least some people read this web site :-) Have a look if you wish cruise with us next year as we have had to put our prices up, but if you book before the end of October 2006 you only pay this years prices to cruise next year. I have also posted copies to everyone on our mailing list, but if you did not get one, just ring and I'll willing put one in the post for you.

We will soon be off on our last cruises of the year which will take us around the Ashby canal, Coventry, Tamworth and up Factory locks into Birmingham. There we will spend a few days on the BCN before coming back to Saltisford for the winter.
