News about Reed Boats
in 2006.
July
2006.
We have been so busy this year that I have
not had time to keep the newsletters up to date. A lot has happened!
- We
are on our third crew. However the present crew, a young Australian couple, are
doing very well and it seems that they will stay until the end of the season in
October.
- The boats are performing well and the many small improvements
made during the winter 2005-6 are very much appreciated by the guests we have
already had this year.
- We had a very intersting time at Saul with well
over 500 people looking at the boats and many ordering brochures.
- At
present the weather is very hot, with some of the worst thunder storms I have
ever known. One of the worst started just after we had started down Hatton locks
and lasted most of the way. The crew chose to work on so we had a trip down Hatton
with a difference.
- We are now making plans for next year which include
a vist to Leicester as well as the usual runs up to Llangollen. I have not yet
had time to place it on-line yet, but if you are interested just email, or phone
me, with your address and I'll put a copy in the post to you.
- At the
end of July we are on our way down to London, traveling south on the Grand Union
canal for the first time. However we still have a number of cabins available this
year. So why not come and join us for a break this Autumn, or even this August.
