Our guide to the waterways of the UK in detail.
Pictures of the Caldon Canal.
The Caldon canal starts in the centre of Stoke on Trent but while never far from the city it soon establishes the rural character for which it is justly celebrated. Intensely wooded, a section on the beautifuil River Churnett moorings by water mills and steam railways add to the fascination of this lovely little canal.
