A Scrap Book of the building of Oak & Ash.
Craning in of 'Ash'
First Ash, now part painted, is eased out of the construction shed.
Using as her motive power a fork lift truck. |
She is then lifted high in the air to be turned around and carefully placed on a lorry to be taken up to the canal side. |
Here Ash is lifted up again to be placed in the water. |
A quick inspection to make sure there are no leaks and that the ballast has the boat riding right. |
| A hold up as she is lifted out when Carlton TV take the chance of getting a quick interview with Dave Thomas. | ![]() |

Then Ash is lifted back onto the lorry to be returned to the shed. | |
| Here she is craned into the place outside the shed where she can be fitted out. |
